What is Italian pasta?

Italy is the birthplace of pasta and so it just makes sense that Italian pasta is quite simply the best pasta. While most of us can’t fly to Italy every time we want great pasta, we can still choose superior store-bought pasta for all of our favorite classic Italian dishes. Italian pasta is made simply with high quality hard durum wheat and water—sometimes eggs. Pasta can be formed into a wide variety of shapes—from long Spaghetti noodles to the tiny pastina (soup cut), Orzo.

Italian Pasta - The Delallo Difference

There are many store-bought pasta brands to choose from, but which pasta is the best? DeLallo Pasta is made simply with only the finest ingredients and generations of pasta-making experience. Crafted in Italy (the birthplace of pasta), our pasta boasts the finest durum wheat without additives or preservatives—just wheat and water, the way it should be.

DeLallo uses artisanal methods of pasta production to ensure the integrity, consistency and authenticity of our Italian Pasta, from the harvesting of our wheat to the packaging of our final product. We use bronze dies to extrude our pasta. This gives the pasta’s surface a rougher texture made for capturing sauces. Instead of heating pasta and cooking out flavor and nutrients, we slowly dry our pasta at low temperatures to retain its flavor and texture and for a pasta that will always cook up al dente.

Types (Cuts) Of Italian Pasta You Can Buy

DeLallo Italian Pasta comes in a variety of shapes to include the classics and more recipe-driven cuts: from long pasta shapes, like Spaghetti and Bucatini, to short pasta shapes, like Penne Rigate and Rigatoni… even tiny soup cuts like Ditalini and Orzo. Find the perfect Italian pasta for your pasta salads, easy pasta dinners and all of your favorite classic Italian recipes.

The Best Sauces For Italian Pasta

Just as there is a pasta dish for every season, there is a pasta sauce for every palate. While tomato sauces are popular, there are so many sauce options to choose from. Light, simple sauces can be made with olive oil or butter and some fresh herbs. Pesto is a classic Italian pasta sauce that includes fragrant basil, olive oil and Parmesan cheese. Dress your noodles with a creamy cheese sauce, like the classic Alfredo, for the ultimate comfort food. Meat sauces made with Italian sausage or ground pork are a heartier, more filling option.

Our Favorite [Easy And Delicious] Italian Pasta Recipes
